More Snow Likely This Week: National Weather Service

Rush hour could get messy Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

A weekend snowstorm dumped as much as six inches of snow in the area, and more is headed this way, according to the National Weather Service.

Another winter storm system is headed for Will and Kendall counties this week, and could result in more accumulation by Wednesday morning.

Snow is likely to begin Tuesday afternoon and continue overnight, according to the NWS, and "several inches of accumulation are likely across the area."

The heaviest snowfall — a possible six inches — is expected south of I-80.

The Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning commutes could get messy, with roads becoming slippery and snow-covered. Gusty winds could also cause blowing and drifting snow, particularly in open areas.

Early forecasts are also calling for a chance of snow Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
