This is very sad.

I think it hurt the store when it moved from Rte 59 and Caton Farm. That store was always busy.

Or...until people stop shopping for dogs at pet stores thus eliminating the demand. As long asRead More people keep buying dogs this way, there will be puppy mills.
Amanda Strong June 10, 2013 at 11:39 am
Ha! I knew it! I told my ex-MIL this was the case with them and she bought a dog from thereRead More anyway. The dog is very sweet and I can't blame the poor dog, but places like this should be sued into the ground and not allowed to exist anywhere. How awful! I would never buy from a place like that. I would never buy from a breeder. I want a good old-fashioned mutt!
Rick Burian June 10, 2013 at 01:10 pm
If you want a dog please check out Hope4Paws first, they are a local shelter and have a greatRead More selection of puppies/dogs in need. I got my dog from them about 8 months ago and she is perfect!

They should get that and more. An equal amount should be put in a trust fund for this little boyRead More who thought he had loving parents and were ripped from their arms.
Barbara Thavis May 14, 2013 at 08:09 pm
He did have a loving parent, his father. Sunny Ridge was just looking to cash in on the $19,000 theyRead More got in "placement" fees. If they cared about the little boy he would have never been separated from his father.

If they kick enough money back it will be done. If you are dumb enough to believe it will lower yourRead More taxes, create jobs for residents, or become a luxury development in 10 years, you deserve to choke on dust and dodge maniac dump truck drivers.

I want to know what it is they will be mining for? Are they mining or drilling ?
Bob May 20, 2013 at 10:40 pm

Something good!

The Patch should partner with Moraine Valley Community College's Corporate, Community and ContinuingRead More Education division: www.morainevalley.edu/ccce. CCCE also works with small business owners to update their business plan, offers business counseling and more. Reach out to the Dean of the program, Albert Lewis or Eda Schrimple - 708-974-5714 as they and their team are ready and able to help small businesses succeed!

I switched and am very happy that I did. My bill was well under $100 for the first time in a longRead More time. I did not switch through the city, I did it through this website: https://power2switch.com/referral/B4TXYgK0aEJgt9 It was a one year contract instead of the city's two year contract. It's easy, put in your zip and it will give you the current rate and the rate you are now paying. It's a no brainer.
johnqpublic May 15, 2013 at 06:42 pm
I forgot to say that the power supplier is the same one that the city used, First Energy Solutions.Read More I got a slightly better cost then the city's rate, but only for one year.

The referral link above makes it appear as though someone is making some coin off this link....

Joliet gets a hotel and convention center on it's prime real estate and in Channahon it's prime realRead More estate near rt.6 and I-55 Joe Cook and his administration wants a gas station and fuel stop, way to go Joe Your are really looking out for our best interests....
goodbye joliet May 15, 2013 at 11:59 am
More low paying jobs. Thank you Mayor Giarrante.
Chuck Bryan May 17, 2013 at 01:36 am
Joliet should be very careful about this. Convention centers hardly ever make money (except for theRead More contractors who build them). Also, Joliet can't compete with Champaign - it has one of the largest, most prestigious universities in the world. Galena has a thriving tourist industry. Joliet has neither. Why would someone hold a convention in Joliet with a thriving global city only one hour away? Joliet's and Will County's strategy of building business around low wage, low education jobs can't last forever (like casinos, prisons, transportation and trucking,). Conventions bring more low wage work (maids, food service staff). Why can't it copy what good cities do and put money into jobs around technology and education - it should be no surprise that Naperville and Bloomington have a kids museum, but no casino or prison.
anonymous May 10, 2013 at 12:00 am
Don't forget-those that lose their unemploy ment benis or have simply given up looking for a decentRead More paying don't get counted in the #s-but the liars in the govt and their shills in the MSM don't tell you that.
Yvette W May 20, 2013 at 12:25 pm
Wexford Health Services is hiring in Illinois and they have positions available in Sheridan, Menard,Read More Crest HIll, East St. Louis. Pontiac, Danville and Lincoln. So I do believe that the numbers are falling. Take a look at their site http://jobs.wexfordhealth.com/. We just have to share information and keep looking. Have a good one all.

The turnout at this month's election was the worst ever. If 11% of the people believe in democracyRead More enough to vote, what does that tell you about the other 89%? The reason that Kendall taxes are the second highest in the United States is because certain people in power lack integrity. Why am I paying for a horse barn? I gave the county approval to take more tax money so that green spaces (woods and streams) would be preserved. Instead, you crooks bought somebody's horse farm! If you voted for this white elephant, you should resign from office IMMEDIATELY!
mike ellison April 23, 2013 at 04:40 pm
Not only that, but they're now providing free space to the neighbors. If you want to own horses thenRead More take care of your own needs! Apparently, there weren't enough humans who needed assistance in this storm.
anonymous April 18, 2013 at 05:16 pm
Tax evaders of the world-I salute you. The govt beast that devours the fruits of private industry'sRead More labors needs to be crushed under our heel like a serpent. Anyone that says they would pay taxes if it were not for the threat of penalty and imprisonment is a liar-the govt is simply a "legit" group of thieves.
Lou Faugerburg April 18, 2013 at 09:42 pm
Evasion and avoidance are two different things. What these companies are doing is legal. ChicagoRead More needs to take care of their own house and stop harrassing small municipalities. It's David vs. Goliath.
Earnan Drummann April 18, 2013 at 11:23 pm
I visited Plass Appliance & Furniture at 27734 West Bluegrass Drive in Channahon to keep myRead More local money local, but there wasn't anything there to buy. I spend all my money in Shorewood and Joliet because I can't buy much in Channahon. In Channahon I go to church and use the roads. If Channahon wants more income, she needs to rethink how she gets it. Cheating the system hurts everybody. And I HATE paying taxes---but I pay my share legally, if not begrudgingly. And I am most definitely an old Republican Coot. I can't stand a crook.
Michelle Liberty April 18, 2013 at 01:07 am
We started with Steev at the Channahon Park District, a couple of years ago. We have followed himRead More ever since! My son is now 9 years old, and has special needs. Steev's patients and love for music is the driving force that keeps my son interested in learning more! Not to mention, he absolutely adores Steev! :) I highly recommend this school! It is exactly what Channahon needed! Happy Lessons!!!
Monique Phillips April 18, 2013 at 05:19 pm
Nice! Great to the the arts have a stronger presence in Channahon...
