Well stated Will Teach!

All I can do is go off of first hand knowledge, and she did do all those things. My child wasRead More harassed at times by teammates and the principal because we spoke up. It is interesting that almost all the parties involved (super, principal and the coach) are now all gone. You are right about 1 thing, she was not alone, the AD should be next to fall.

I could not agree with will teach more. I am glad she tried to change the culture that had been inRead More place prior to her arrival. I agree with you that I hope the attempted changes continue, but I am not hopeful in light of our recently elected Board of Education.

Not follow the money.. it's CHASE the money.

There should be a clause in the contract with the superintendence that prevent such recruiting.Read More This is common practice in private industry to prevent someone that is leaving a company to take all the good people with them - but our civic leaders would rather be able to line their and their friends pockets then watch out for our kids.

On the contrary... due to the increased enrollment numbers they purchased a 140,000 sq. ft. buildingRead More in Romeoville which negates the need to rent a 8,000 sq. ft. building for a satellite location 10 miles away.

The thing is super small. I would say it's more a space issue. The police must hold classes orRead More meetings there too.

The only time I saw cars there was for some type of cop meeting because there were a lot of cop carsRead More in the parking lot- maybe a donut judging contest?

We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! Don't know about Minooka but a lot of Channahon teachers think sitting with their feet up on theRead More desk & reading social media is a good example of how to teach! Some either need a good kick in the butt or their walking papers! Don't really know of this man or the bullying.

Teacher's unions (and ALL govt employee unions) suck. FDR may have been one of our 5 worstRead More presidents but he was right about not allowing govt "worker" unions.

Good, bullying and retaliation does not work (to students or teachers), Kubinski is next!

I couldn't help but to do some comparison between Stevenson and DHS as a resident in Deerfield,Read More since district has put up the news on the website. Operational spending per student is $16,839 in Stevenson and $20,821 in DHS. STEM ranking, #37 for Stevenson and #145 for DHS. I have been very disappointed in science teaching in DHS. Now I believe that there is some truth in the rankings.

I don't think magnet schools should be included. All the other schools have to take all students inRead More their district, magnet schools can pick and choose best students.

Sounds like a bully kid has a bully mommy. I don't know if that's true, but in twenty years thisRead More will follow the kid around more than it will follow the mommy. Klepec. Oh him, the bully. His Principal was Darcie who? Nice move, mom.
Erin spinola April 13, 2014 at 01:22 pm
I also have had an issue unresolved going on 6 weeks- a bullying incident started by a schoolRead More employee . For some reason when a school is involved- people assume they will automatically do the right thing. Not always the case. I have been shuffled from person to person for 6 weeks. People need to realize a good chunk of the administration is making 6 digits but can't seem to resolve an issue.so yes then you sometimes need to alert the media and hire an attorney to get justice.Time for people to start paying close attention to how things are being handled. There are many good people working up at the high school- but a select few should be seeking employment elsewhere because instead of handling what they need to handle- its brushed under the rug. Considering this is a public school, some of them think they don't have to answer to the public. Time for a change.

If I could go back in time 50 years and had Darcie as school Principal, I'd have been the orneriestRead More SOB on campus. Thank you for sending me to the Principal's office! I think I'll toss a spit wad at somebody today. Tomorrow, too.

"Virtual walls"? Geezus... GPS spoofing is but one way around the geofence. The otherRead More is simply walking up to someone and saying "HEY *(&*(^^#&*(Y($*() !!!!!" Or use a different app created with a bogus email account... *sigh*. Sticks and stones people... sticks and stones... Walk it off and move on...

Im so glad Darice Kubinksi is no longer in the Plainfield School System and is now Minooka problem.Read More she is a head case!
TB Plfd January 14, 2014 at 09:27 am
Darice Kubinksi was one of the worst things that ever happen to Plainfield Schools and many peopleRead More wonder how Minooka let this head case run there high school. maybe they should of did a back ground check on her by running her maid name also to find out what they are getting there school system into. I feel sorry for the teachers and students that got to deal with her.

Instead of worrying about class rank, which is pretty insignificant, MHS really needs to be focusedRead More on the quality of the instruction and the rigor of the courses they offer. Their college and career readiness performance is equivalent to districts that many "escaped" to settle in Minooka. This means that the kids are not learning what they need to be successful in college and career, won't be competitively employable in the US. There are schools everywhere without rankings, and their list of post-high school college enrollment is quite impressive...because the colleges know the level of rigorous standards and instruction those students are receiving, and the have a high ACT score to boot. The problem with people in this hick town is that they worry about what is on the surface, distracted by flashy shiny superficial things, without looking deeper at the FACTS.
train17 December 11, 2013 at 11:45 am
All kids are NOT equal. and the class rank tells colleges the students more likely to complete theirRead More programs. Not every kid can throw a good football pass or pass a difficult Physics exam. Dumbing down curriculum does not make the class smarter, it only lowers the expectations.
Dawn Kaluzny December 11, 2013 at 12:59 pm
The administration doesn't get a vote unless they are paying taxes in the district. Maybe we shouldRead More remove scoring from althletic events, too. Not.
