Our State Park: A Path of Beauty

Channahon State Park provides beautiful scenery, whether you are walking, biking or boating.

This week, local editor Dawn Aulet spent some time in Channahon State Park photographing the natural beauty around her. In future weeks, Channahon-Minooka Patch wants to see your nature photos. The top five photos will be featured on the site, with the winner each week walking away with a Patch gift. Please send your photos to dawn.aulet@patch.com. Photos must be received by Thursday to be considered for that week's feature. The land now known as Channahon State Park was established in 1932 as Channahon State Parkway. Visitors to the site today will find opportunities to learn the history of the area, which includes the Illinois and Michigan Canal State Trail. Channahon State Park is the official trailhead.
