A rash of criminal damage to property events has a number of police agencies investigating the crimes.
In Shorewood on Friday night, a number of cars were damaged with what appeared to be a BB gun. This was also the case in Channahon, Minooka and unincorporated areas of Will County. Channahon Police Lt. Mark Fischer said the department took seven incident reports of damage to vehicles, but that around 20 people were victims in the incidents. That means that a number of cars in the same vicinity were damaged at the same time. "Our evidence techs believe it’s a BB gun," Fischer said. He added that unincorporated areas of Channahon and Troy townships also had reports of damage that were being handled by Will County Sheriff's Police. Minooka Police Department had a similar situation. "This past weekend, we had reports of 16 vehicles that were …

Safety reasons cited for not identifying officers.
Police officials said Tuesday that releasing the names of the three police officers arrested in Peoria for their part in an alleged strip club fight would be a "huge officer safety concern." Therefore, the names remain unknown to the public. Two Bolingbrook officers and a Channahon cop—each of whom belonged to the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad (MANS)—were arrested April 5 after they went to Big Al's strip club and allegedly got into a fight with the bouncer. MANS' executive board met Tuesday morning, where members were expected to discuss whether to release the officers' names. Officials, however, remain quiet in handing down more information. "I have no comment," said MANS Director Dan Tapper. "I'm not going to speak on this." Both …

Yeah, cuz letting bad guys know that there are Bolingbrook cops in Peoria would be revealing too much, because being undercover, the cops undoubtedly used their real names, right? Ridiculous. Not printing photos would serve the purpose. Not revealing their names because of some BS about covert operations is an insult to those that believe it, and is another typical example of government doing as …   more ›

Despite the presence of coyotes, no Channahon resident has ever been injured by one. Still, police are encouraging people to take certain precautions.
Coyotes are rather elusive. They are nocturnal, coming out to feed at night. "Coyotes are actually very timid by nature," Channahon police Lt. Mark Fischer said. Maybe this is why residents are concerned when they do see a coyote. However, Fischer said coyotes have never injured anyone in the village. "There's never been any person attacked in Channahon," he said. In fact, Will County Forest Preserve District Spokesman Bruce Hodgdon said the forest preserve district rarely gets calls about coyotes at all. In addition to being nocturnal, coyotes prefer natural habitat. Since Channahon has both Channahon State Park and McKinley Woods, coyotes have plenty of natural habitat. But, coyotes are also opportunitic. So, Fischer said residents …

There will never be any changes to this good ole boy village administration, just look at the recent changes, top administrators swapping jobs, telecommunication tax, because I didn't know what I was signing, mayor not paying taxes from money earned from the village and on and on, no wonder this village is just another sore in this corrupted state.   more ›
