Chicago police said Alex Reyes was intoxicated when he drove into a police car and a light pole, causing the death of a Cicero man.
A Joliet man was reportedly intoxicated when he drove head on into a Chicago police car Friday night and then knocked down a light pole, killing a passenger in his car, Chicago police said. The accident occurred at about 11:20 p.m. in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side, according to a story in the Chicago Tribune. Alex Reyes, of the 3100 block of Nantucket Drive, was charged with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI involving death and aggravated DUI involving bodily harm. He was also cited for driving while his license was suspended and not having insurance, police said. His passenger was Anthony Camarillo, 18, of Cicero, who was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene, the story said.

Carlton Fisk, the one-time White Sox great who was found passed out behind the wheel in a New Lenox field three months ago, pleaded guilty Thursday to driving under the influence. Fisk has agreed to pay $1,250 in court costs and was sentenced to one year's court supervision under the plea deal approved by Will County Judge Bennett Braun, a story published by the Chicago Tribune said. He must also undergo an alcohol abuse evaluation and meet with a panel of people who have had family and friends killed by drunken drivers, the story said. No one was injured in the crash that happened Sept. 29.
Lisa Jolin, 39, of Channahon, was arrested on charges of DUI and improper lane use after she crashed her car into a light pole on Route 6 at Fryer Street on Saturday night. Channahon Police Chief Jeff Wold said Jolin was headed west on Route 6 and hit a light pole. She was not injured in the crash. Get news where you live. Tiffany Unland, 30, of Coal City, was charged with two counts of aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol, Charles Pelkie, Will County State's Attorney Spokesperson said. "The charge used to be called reckless homicicde or they used to call it vehicular homicide," Pelkie said. But, now the charge is aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. It is a class 2 felony charge, the same as reckless homicide and carries a penalty of 3 to 7 years in prison “It is the equivelant of a reckless homicide charge," Pelkie said. Unland was arrested following a fatal car crash on August 31 in Channahon that killed 46-year-old Anthony B. Calhoun, whose last know address was in Palatine.
