Crime Stoppers: Seeking Information About Residential Burglary

Items were stolen from a Minooka residence sometime between Aug. 15, 2012, and March 8, 2013.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is seeking information in reference to a residential burglary that occurred in the 15000 Block of Hanson Road in Minooka. Sometime between Aug. 15, 2012, and March 8, 2013, someone entered a residence on this property and took numerous items, according to a news release issued by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. Anyone with information on this or other crimes is urged to call Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999. Callers remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the offenders.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Completes Tobacco Compliance Testing

Only one violation was found in the second round of tobacco compliance testing.

The following is a release issued by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office: On February 7th, 2013 the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office completed a second round of Tobacco Compliance Testing. All but one of the tobacco retailers in unincorporated Kendall County were in compliance with the Illinois tobacco laws. One violation occurred at Last Chance Saloon located in the 100 block of South Church Street in Millington. An employee allegedly sold tobacco products to an undercover agent that was sent in by deputies.  The employee was cited for unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor, a petty offense. The compliance checks are performed to determine if local tobacco retailers are complying with state minimum-age tobacco laws which prohibit the sale of …

Sheriff's Office Conducting Special Patrols Super Bowl Weekend

The Kendall County Sheriff's office encourages motorists to safely celebrate Super Bowl weekend and offers advice on staying safe.

The following is from a release issued by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office:  The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office announced it will conduct special patrols this Super Bowl weekend cracking down on drunk drivers and seat belt law violators. “We are reminding everyone that if you choose to drink and drive in Kendall County this weekend, you will lose,” said Operations Commander Phil Smith.  “If you plan on drinking alcohol while cheering on your team, pass your keys to a sober driver before the Super Bowl party begins. Illinois Sheriffs’ Association Offering Scholarship

Kendall County Sheriff Richard A. Randall will be awarding one scholarship for $500.

The following is from a press release issued by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office: The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association announces that it will be awarding over $53,000 in college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2013-2014 academic year.  The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books, and fees only.  The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. Sheriff Richard A. Randall, Kendall County, will be awarding one scholarship in the amount of $500. DUI, Illegal transportation of alcohol Mary K. Carlson, 32, of the 1400 block of Plainfield Road, Oswego, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. at Plainfield Road and Collins Road and charged with driving under the influence and the illegal transportation of alcohol, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.  Deputies were originally sent to the location for a well-being check for a driver asleep in the middle of the road. Burglary Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a reported burglary that occurred between Jan. 4 and Jan. 14 in the 2200 block of Route 31. Crime Stoppers: Seeking Information about Stolen Jeep Wrangler

The white 1998 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from a driveway in Yorkville.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in reference to a Motor Vehicle Theft that occurred in the 7000 Block of Regal Oak Court, Yorkville, unincorporated Kendall County, Illinois. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2012 and 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 29, someone took a white 1998 Jeep Wrangler Illinois Registration RZW195, which was parked in the driveway of a residence. Crime Stoppers: Seeking Information about Mailboxes Damaged by Explosives

Incident happened on Jan. 6 in unincorporated Kendall County.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in reference to criminal damage to mailboxes that occurred in the area of Little Rock Road and Leslie Lane, Plano, unincorporated Kendall County, Illinois. On Jan. 6 at approximately 10:43 p.m. area residents heard a loud explosion and then observed that several mailboxes were damaged by an explosive device. UPDATED: Mokena Man in Stolen Pickup Truck Leads Police on a 30-mile Chase

Police from nine departments pursue a Mokena man for 30-miles on Interstate 80 between Ottawa and Minooka.

A 37-year-old Mokena man led police from nine different departments on a 30-mile chase from Ottawa to Minooka. The chase ended in a crash at 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Daniel Bakalik, of the 9000 block of Cambridge Court, was apprehended in Minooka after Minooka Police assisted in the chase by placing stop sticks on Interstate 80 near the Ridge Road ramp. The sticks do not immedietly stop the vehicle, so Bakalik continued eastbound on Interstate 80 and when his car was no longer drivable, he took off on foot, Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer said.
