You're right, the department is overstaffed, what you failed to mention is they are overpaid. Remember the Herald News article that posted city salaries and OVERTIME? Maybe we hire more cops at salaries commensurate with our population. Joliet cops make more than Chicago cops. Perhaps you're a former Joliet cop enjoying his cushy, outrageous pension.

You are so wrong. Doesn't it make sense to patrol neighborhoods that have high crime rates? If this is profiling so be it. Maybe if we profile more we could reduce crime.
